Electrical Supervisor


About this role

We are looking for an experienced Isolation Officer / Electrical Supervisor for a 3-month role at RIO West Angelas iron ore mine in the Pilbara region.

  • FIFO ex Perth only
  • 2:1 Roster

LOCATION: Rio West Angelas

DATES: Immediate start – 3 months duration with possible extension to the end of July


HOURS: 12 hours per day

SCOPE OF WORKS: The main purpose of this role will be to supervise construction contractors for the EPCM

PAY: Negotiable


The successful applicant will need to be proactive, goal-orientated with excellent attention to detail as well as the ability to identify issues, problems, and opportunities; make timely decisions and develop appropriate and innovative solutions. Candidates will need to demonstrate previous experience in site-based roles within the Australian mining & construction industry. The following attributes are also highly desirable:

  • Construction delivery of electrical design
  • Plan work activities and identify hazards and controls in consultation with contractors
  • Monitor construction work and ensure adherence to permit procedures and statutory requirements
  • Conduct and record site inspections and risk assessments
  • Develop relationships operations, subcontractors and vendors
  • Contractor management
  • Undertake training and perform as an Isolation Officer


To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • Rio Inductions (preferred but not essential)
  • Electrical Trade Qualification
  • Current WA Electrical Licence
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Construction White Card
  • High Risk Work Licence
  • Demonstrated experience working on major construction, industrial or mining projects
  • Thorough understanding of current OHS legislation and a proven ability to pragmatically apply this knowledge in an engineering/project management environment
  • Basic competence in MS Office suite
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
